Precision Nutrient Management

At Lone Pine Ag-Services, we believe fertility should never be guesswork. Every field is different. Every soil type is different. Every yield goal is different. That is why we take a step-by-step approach to understand exactly what your crop needs and where your dollars will work hardest.

Step 1 Soil Sampling

  • We start by coming to your farm and pulling composite soil samples from your fields.

  • Samples are pulled to get a true picture of what is going on across the acre.

  • We send those samples to Midwest Labs, one of the most trusted testing facilities in the industry.

  • This gives us a reliable look at what your soil is supplying and what it is lacking.

  • Instead of guessing, we start with real numbers.

Step 2 Reading the Soil

  • Once the results come back, we break down the full fertility picture.

  • We look at major nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sulfur, calcium, and magnesium.

  • We also study micronutrients like zinc, boron, manganese, copper, and iron.

  • We evaluate pH, CEC, organic matter, and other key soil factors that influence nutrient availability.

  • We identify what is limiting yield and what is holding the crop back.

Step 3 Matching the Program to the Crop

  • After the soil test is complete, we build a program around the crop you are raising.

  • Corn, soybeans, wheat, alfalfa, and pasture all remove nutrients differently.

  • Every crop has its own demand curve and nutritional needs.

  • Our job is to match fertility to the crop, not force the crop into a one-size-fits-all program.

  • We focus on what that plant truly needs to perform.

Step 4 Matching the Program to Your Farm

  • We build the program around your operation, not ours.

  • We consider the equipment you already have.

  • We look at whether you run NH3, liquid, dry fertilizer, or a mix of all three.

  • We factor in whether your planter has liquid capability.

  • We consider your timing, labor, logistics, and application preferences.

  • The goal is to build something that works in the real world on your farm.

Step 5 Building the Right Nutrient Package

  • We have access to both macronutrients and micronutrients individually.

  • That allows us to build the exact package your acre needs.

  • We are not limited to cookie cutter blends.

  • We can target specific deficiencies instead of overapplying nutrients you do not need.

  • We can fine tune the program to match yield goals, crop needs, and soil levels.

  • This helps make every dollar spent per acre count.

Step 6 Focusing on Placement

  • Nutrient placement matters.

  • We look at where nutrients need to be placed for the best response.

  • In many situations, putting nutrients near the seed or root zone can be far more efficient than broadcasting everything dry.

  • We can show the difference between traditional broadcast programs and more targeted fertility systems.

  • While we do offer dry fertilizer, we also help growers understand where liquid systems can create better placement and better efficiency.

  • The right nutrient in the right place can change the whole response.

Step 7 Feeding the Plant All Season

  • Fertility is not just a preplant decision.

  • Crops need nutrition throughout the growing season.

  • We can build programs that include starter fertility, sidedress, topdress, foliar nutrition, and micronutrient support.

  • This allows us to feed the crop when demand is highest.

  • Instead of relying on one application to do it all, we can build a season long approach.

  • That helps support stronger growth, healthier plants, and better yield potential.

Step 8 Identifying the Yield Limiting Factors

  • A lot of fertility programs are built around tradition.

  • We believe they should be built around what is actually limiting yield.

  • Sometimes that is phosphorus.

  • Sometimes it is potassium.

  • Sometimes it is sulfur, boron, zinc, or manganese.

  • Sometimes the issue is not how much nutrient is there, but whether the plant can access it.

  • We work to identify the biggest weaknesses first so we can attack the real problem.

Step 9 Maximizing Return Per Acre

  • More fertilizer is not always the answer.

  • Better nutrient balance is.

  • Better placement is.

  • Better timing is.

  • Better efficiency is.

  • Our goal is to help you spend money where it creates a response.

  • We want your fertility program to drive performance, not just add cost.

  • Every recommendation is built around getting the most value per acre.

Step 10 No Cookie Cutter Programs

  • No two fields are exactly alike.

  • No two growers manage exactly alike.

  • No two fertility programs should look exactly the same.

  • That is why we do not believe in cookie cutter recommendations.

  • We build around your soil.

  • We build around your crop.

  • We build around your equipment.

  • We build around your goals.

  • We build around your acre.

Bottom Line

  • We do not believe in throwing fertilizer at a field and hoping for the best.

  • We believe in testing, understanding, and building a program with purpose.

  • When you match the right nutrients to the right crop, in the right place, at the right time, results follow.
